Ahead of tonight’s crucial matchup against the Detroit Red Wings, the Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have come to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract with forward Jack Berglund.
BREAKING: We have signed forward Jack Berglund to a three-year entry-level contract beginning with the 2026-27 season.
Berglund will report to the @LVPhantoms (AHL) for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.

According to general manager Daniel Brière, Berglund will report to the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms for the remainder of the season, and the contract will begin in 2026-27.
Berglund was drafted by the Flyers in the second round of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. During his draft year, the Karlstad, Sweden native, registered 15 goals and 34 points in 41 games for Färjestad BK J20 of Sweden’s J20 Nationell league.
In 2024-25, Berglund recorded 22 points in 15 games in the junior league, 3 points in 17 games in the SHL for Färjestad BK, and went without a point in 4 games in the HockeyAllsvenskan for BIK Karlskoga.
With experience in 3 different leagues, Berglund spent the majority of this past season in the SHL, where he scored 7 goals and 12 points in 40 games. The 6’4”, 217-pound centre also captained Team Sweden to a gold medal at the IIHF World Junior Championship, where he scored 3 goals and 10 points in 7 games.
Berglund is the sixth prospect to sign his entry-level contract this year, following in the footsteps of Porter Martone, Noah Powell, Cole Knuble, Alex Čiernik, and college free agent Riley Thompson.
It was reported earlier in the week the Flyers were trying to get Berglund to come over to the Phantoms, but he still had one year remaining on his contract in Sweden. The idea was that Berglund wanted to run things back in the SHL, but it seems he will have an opportunity to stick around in Philadelphia through training camp next season and could still be loaned back to Sweden anyway.
My understanding of the 2026-27 element of the contract is that he'll be given a shot to make the Flyers out of camp next season. If he doesn't make it, he technically will have to be loaned back to Sweden. (An later arrangement could be made, though, to have him go to the AHL.) https://t.co/agY4LVm7Oe

The Phantoms have just five games remaining until their regular season ends and are fighting for a playoff spot, so it will be interesting to see when he makes his North American professional debut.
