Flyers Prospect Jack Berglund Loaned to SHL

The Philadelphia Flyers have announced that they have loaned centre prospect Jack Berglund back to Färjestad BK of the Swedish Hockey League for the 2026-27 season.

Berglund has been a member of the organization as early as 2019-20 when he was apart of their U16 circuit. He graduated to the SHL when he made his debut in 2023-24 and just recently scored 7 goals and 12 points in 40 contests this past year.

There was a belief prior to this transaction that the young Swede would outfit for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in the AHL this year, however he wanted to honour the final year on his SHL contract. The 20-year-old believes there’s unfinished business he needs to take care of for his hometown team before fully immersing himself to the North American game.

There’s a good amount of hype surrounding the 6’4” Karlstad native, who is fresh off captaining Team Sweden to their third World Junior Championship gold medal, where he notched 3 goals and 10 points in just 7 games.

He also appeared in 5 games for the Phantoms at the end of the season, where he tallied a goal and 13 PIM. Expect to see Berglund reprise his role with the Phantoms once more when the SHL season comes to a close in 2027.
