The Philadelphia Flyers have announced nine more cuts to their 2023 Training Camp roster, according to general manager Daniel Brière.

The Flyers have released forwards Matthew Brown and Brendan Furry from their Professional Tryout agreements and both will report to the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Forward Olle Lycksell was also loaned to Lehigh Valley and report to the Phantoms.

Philadelphia placed five players on waivers for the purpose of assignment to Lehigh Valley. Forwards Rhett Gardner, Adam Brooks, and Cooper Marody and defensemen Louie Belpedio and Victor Mete were waived by the Flyers.

Gardner registered the game-tying goal late in the third period in Saturday’s 3-2 overtime loss against the New Jersey Devils.

Also, defenseman Matteo Mann, the Flyers’ seventh-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, was sent back to the QMJHL’s Saint John Sea Dogs.

17 forwards, 10 defensemen and 4 goaltenders remain on the Flyers’ roster in Training Camp now. The Flyers will make more cuts in the coming days, and tonight’s preseason matchup against the Boston Bruins features a few players looking to stick around.
