Zac Rinaldo signs with Columbus

(r/CalgaryFlames)

Former Flyers forward Zac Rinaldo is returning to the Metropolitan Division after signing a contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Rinaldo (31) only found his way into four games (0 PTS, 5 PIM) with the Calgary Flames last season as he spent most of the year on the taxi squad.

It’s a one year, two way pact with Columbus. Zac will need to compete in training camp if he wants to see some NHL games in 2021-2022.

Since being traded by Ron Hextall for a 3rd round pick in 2015, Zac Rinaldo has not been able to stay in an NHL starting lineup consistently. He has bounced back and forth between the show and AHL with Boston, Arizona, Nashville, and Calgary.

Zac Rinaldo was an energizer bunny and fan favorite for the Flyers between 2011 and 2015, racking up 572 PIM in 223 games (8 G, 16 A, 24 PTS).
