The Philadelphia Flyers (7-5-1) continue their road trip with a matchup against the Nashville Predators (5-6-4) due up next at Bridgestone Arena. The puck is scheduled to drop at 8pm/ET.

Philadelphia aims to stay in the win column after leaving Montréal victorious following a wild game. The Flyers led the contest 3-0 over the Canadiens, trailed 4-3, then fought back to steal two points.

“I thought we did a lot of good things. Started off obviously really well. I think it was big that we stayed with it and finished it off,” said Travis Konecny.

As for the Predators, they’ve been playing more like prey as of late. Nashville has dropped five of their last six and lost their previous two in overtime. The Predators were outscored 22-15 in that stretch as their oppositions racked up 173 shots on goal, a reoccurring theme this season for the Predators. Nashville gives up 29.6 shots per game and their 51 goals allowed is third-most in the league.

“We’re all going through it, and we’ll get better for it…we’re learning some hard lessons stubbornly right now,” Predators head coach Andrew Brunette said.

Ironically, the Predators’ lowest number of shots surrendered so far came last Thursday night against the Flyers. The Predators held the Flyers to 18 shots, but Philadelphia won the matchup 4-1 and was led offensively by Trevor Zegras. It was a three-point night for Zegras when the two teams met seven days ago with the 24-year-old forward scoring twice.

Zegras leads the Flyers in assists and points. He’s strengthened Philadelphia’s power play by developing additional space and creating highlight reel moments, including a spin-o-rama feed to Cam York resulting in a goal on Tuesday night. Needless to say, Zegras has been an absolute force when it comes to a shootout scoring in all three attempts this season, boosting him to 15-for-23 (65.2%) in his career.

“Pretty confident. I feel like you have to be,” Zegras said on his self-assurance during a shootout attempt. “It’s just something that I grew up that I was drawn to. I was a big Patrick Kane fan, and he was always really good in the shootout. It’s something that I definitely practiced a lot. It’s been going good.”

The Flyers would be a different team without Zegras.

Dan Vladař is between the pipes tonight for Philadelphia. Coming off the month of October with a 4-2-0 record, 1.67 GAA, and .939 SV%, November hasn’t been as kind to the Czech netminder. Vladař has let eight goals in on 39 shots for a .795 SV% this month, but he was a key contributor late in the Canadiens contest, stopping Montréal from picking up the extra point.

Philadelphia’s Player to Watch: Owen Tippett

Owen Tippett started out the year scoring five goals in his first six games. He’s in a slump of late, recording just one assist in his last seven outings, and has been trying to bury one over that span of games by generating 19 shots on goal. Tippett came close on multiple occasions in Montréal but was shut down each time by Sam Montembeault. Playing on the first line, tonight feels like the night Tippett finds himself back on the scoresheet.

Nashville’s Player to Watch: Luke Evangelista

Between spending time on the top line and No. 1 powerplay unit, Luke Evangelista’s been setting up his teammates. His seven assists lead the Predators. With names like Filip Forsberg, Steven Stamkos, and Ryan O’Reilly on the squad, Evangelista quietly gets overlooked. The 23-year-old has reached double digits in goals each season and could play a factor to end Nashville’s current skid.
