Flyers, Rangers to play Rookie Series in Allentown in September

(Heather Barry Images, LLC)

The Philadelphia Flyers and New York Rangers will be playing another Rookie Series in September at PPL Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

The Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the Flyers’ AHL affiliate, made the announcement earlier on Wednesday.

This will be the second consecutive year the clubs’ rookies will meet in Allentown.

Philadelphia won both games last year. They took Game 1 in overtime 2-1 on a Tyson Foerster snipe off the rush, and then they dominated Game 2 in a 5-1 thrashing.

Tickets for this year’s games go on sale Friday morning at 10:00am ET. The games will take place on Friday, September 15th, and Saturday, September 16th, right around the time training camp for the Flyers will begin.
