The Flyers Enter Mullett Arena for the First Time

(Heather Barry Images, LLC)

For the first time in team history, the Philadelphia Flyers will play in the 5,000-seat capacity Mullett Arena as they continue their 4-game road trip.

After a tough OT loss to Vegas, the Flyers look to rebound against the struggling Coyotes. Scott Laughton potted the lonely goal, and Carter Hart made one of his best saves of the season. While the team seems to be a struggling OT group, they gave Vegas a run for their money with a great performance and a disappointing outcome.

The ex-Flyer, Shayne Gostisbehere, sits nice with 20 points as the Coyotes’ best defenseman, clearly feeling like his old self. He would sit only behind Kevin Hayes and Travis Konecny for most points on the Flyers. At the same time, Tony DeAngelo for the Flyers seems to be another healthy scratch, keeping Cam York in the line up for another night.

While the team didn’t have a shot at a power play in the Vegas game, they still sit at 28th in the league with a 16.7% scoring rate. Their penalty kill has jumped up to 23rd with a 75.3% success rate. It’s clear that if the Flyers want to beat other bottom-dwelling teams, these units need to figure it out.
