Life after the 2025 NHL Trade Deadline waits for no one.
A mid-day matinée features the Philadelphia Flyers (27-28-8) hosting the Seattle Kraken (26-33-4). The puck drops at 12:30pm/ET at the Wells Fargo Center.
Yesterday, the Flyers made three trades before the NHL Trade Deadline. First, Andrei Kuzmenko joined the Los Angeles Kings in return for a 2027 third-round pick. Then, a 2025 fourth-round pick, a 2027 sixth-round pick, and Scott Laughton went to the Toronto Maple Leafs for a 2027 first-round pick and Nikita Grebenkin. Lastly, Erik Johnson returned to the Colorado Avalanche for Givani Smith.
Today, the lineup changes again. Daniel Brière recalled Olle Lycksell, Rodrigo Ābols, and Emil Andrae from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Grebenkin and Smith report to the Phantoms with Alexei Kolosov, who returned to Lehigh Valley before the NHL Trade Deadline to be eligible for the 2025 Calder Cup Playoffs.
Per DraftKings Sportsbook, Philadelphia (-148) is the odds-on favorite to win today. In October, the Kraken won the first meeting, 6-4. The Flyers have an edge on the penalty kill and faceoff dot. Seattle has a slightly better powerplay, scores at a marginally higher rate, and defends a little tighter on the season. Immediately after the NHL Trade Deadline, these games can be a crapshoot.

Philadelphia Flyers
Sam Ersson (18-11-4, 2.94GAA, 88.9%SV) is the probable starter. Philadelphia enters a weekend back-to-back. Ersson was left out to dry often enough versus the Winnipeg Jets.
Cam York (-3, 97BLK, 37HIT, 20TK:63GV; 47.5%FF) was one of the more lively defensemen in that humdrum loss to the Jets. In the offensive zone, he blasted a shot on Eric Comrie. Unfortunately, to no fault of his own, the sequence put the Flyers on the penalty kill. Matvei Michkov served a minor for goaltender interference, and the special teams unraveled. A step in the right direction for York would be a better performance on the penalty kill following a 0/2 (0%) finish on Thursday.
Bobby Brink (8G, 21A; 53.8%CF) didn’t drown in the NHL Trade Deadline distractions versus Winnipeg. He blocked a bevy of shots, and while he didn’t manage a high-danger scoring chance, Brink hustled to his spots in the offensive zone but didn’t hit his marks.
