After a 4-2 defeat on Friday night at PPL Center, the Philadelphia Flyers will look to split the Rookie Series against the New York Rangers on Saturday.

The Flyers scored the first goal of Game 1 courtesy of Matt Brown late in the first period, but the Rangers jumped out to a 2-1 lead in the second period before Alex Čiernik tied the game with 30.8 seconds left. New York was unfazed and tacked on two more goals in the third period to secure the victory.

Carson Bjarnason will get the start in goal for the Flyers tonight after Nolan Maier played last night. Bjarnason, the Flyers’ second-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, sported a 21-19-6 record, .900 SV%, 3.08 GAA, and 3 shutouts last season with the WHL’s Brandon Wheat Kings.

Up front, the Flyers’ lines are shuffled but all the forwards who played last night will play again. On the back-end, Matteo Mann, Sam Sedley, Emil Andrae, and Helge Grans will draw in for Oliver Bonk, Adam Ginning, Ethan Samson, and Carter Sotheran.
